He married PERMELIA ANN FOWLER, daughter of HEZEKIAH FOWLER and FANNY SKEESUCK. She was born 24 Mar 1838 in Brothertown, Calumet Co., WI, and died 12 Mar 1910 in Brothertown, Calumet Co., WI.

MILITARY:

At the age of 22, Elias enlisted in Co A 3rd Wis Inf and was wounded in the chest during the battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia in May of 1863. He reenlisted in December 1863 and was promoted to Corporal in May of 1865. In the census enumeration of 1880, Elias is listed as still living at Brothertown Wisconsin.
