College Notes (November 2013)
Jordan
Toburen, a junior elementary education major from Greenwood, has been named a
resident assistant (RA) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the
2013-2014 academic years. The purpose of the RA is to generate a community in
the residence halls, help new students adjust to campus and create a sense of
unity among all residents. To hold the position, applicants must have a strong
academic record and complete several interviews with their peers and faculty
members.
Michelle Seefeld from Unity has been awarded scholarships from
the University of Wisconsin-Platteville College of Liberal Arts and Education.
The scholarships include the Liberal Arts and Education Alumni Scholarship,
Bheru LalLilawati Sukhwal Scholarship and Luther and Irma Zellmer Memorial
Scholarship.
The following area students attending the University of
Wisconsin-Stout were awarded scholar ships this year through the Stout
University Foundation:
Amanda Davis of Humbird received the Stout
Scholars Award. Davis is majoring in vocational rehabilitation.
Scott
Lawcewicz of Thorp received the Garrott and Dewey Barich Endowed Manufacturing
Engineering Scholarship and the Fulton and Edna Holtby Endowed Scholarship.
Lawcewicz is majoring in manufacturing engineering.
Nicole Reinhardt of
Neillsville received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in August 2013 from the
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her major was community health education.
