Calvary Lutheran
Church (Mother-Daughter Banquet - 1971)
Approximately 120 women and girls
attended the annual Mother-Daughter banquet Monay evening at Calvary Lutheran
Church. “Hats off to Spring” was the theme for the evening. Table decorations
consisted of colorful spring bonnets and blossoming petunia plants. Program
covers were construction paper cartwheel hats trimmed with contrasting nylon net
veils and ribbons.
The lasagna dinner, prepared by church women, was
served by the men of the church headed by Arlo Clausen.
A program
consisting of narration and slides, many of them nature studies, was provided by
Herb Blum. Marilyn Galstad sang “O Happy Home”. She was accompanied by Mrs.
Roger Heineck. Mrs. Kenneth Olson led the closing prayer.
Co-chairmen for
the event were Mrs. Raymond Tesmer and Mrs. Don Clemens. They were assisted by
Mrs. Kenneth Van Dam, Mrs. Donald Schield, Mrs. Murel Mott, Mrs. Arlo Clausen,
and Mrs. Milford Tesmer.
Funds realized from the event are used to help
finance summer Bible Camp attendance by youth of the church.
