Smith, Margaret (Marriage - 2 June 1951)
Miss Margaret Louise Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Smith of Fairchild, became the bride of Martin Harold Wagner of Neillsville at a ceremony performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon, June 2, with the Rev. Alfred Schewe officiating.
The bride was attired in a gown of white net over satin, featuring a beaded yoke. Her veil fell from a Juliet cap and her bridal bouquet consisted of yellow roses and sprays of lilies of the valley.
Her attendants were Miss Marcella Gronkowski of Fairchild, who was dressed in a gown of yellow satin, and Miss Janet Dankemeyer of Neillsville, whose gown was of pastel green satin. They carried bouquets of roses and snapdragons.
Herbert Wagner acted as his brother’s best man and Wilbert Henchen was the groomsman. Ushers were Walter Wagner, Jr., and Marvin Wagner, both cousins of the groom. Dinner and supper were served for the guests at the home of the brides parents.
Mr. Wagner is a graduate of the Neillsville High School and Mrs. Wagner was graduated from the Fairchild High School and has been employed at Beckers Café in Neillsville.
Following a honeymoon in the west they will reside on a farm near Neillsville.
