The gravel pit is now open and gravel is being hauled on the road south of
the schoolhouse.
Lawrence and Sylvia Walter and John Kline came out from
Greenwood to spend the weekend at their respective home.
Mrs. Aug.
Stabnow, Bessie and Anna came out from Loyal for the weekend.
Elmer
Rossman spent Saturday and Sunday at Haupt's.
Joe Suda sawed wood at
Stabnow's Saturday.
Millard Loveland, Leo and Charlie Arp and Bernard
Walter are suffering with the mumps. We extend our sympathy.
Word came of
the marriage of Miss Fern Merrill on Dec. 30th to Mr. Harry Le Selle of
Ooseberg, Wis. The young people will make their home there as Mr. Le Selle owns
a garage in Ooseberg. Mrs. A.E. Himes of Bright spent a few weeks at the Paul
Acker home helping care for the new granddaughter.
George Walter returned
from La Crosse Friday night and will assist with the work until Bernard is well
again.
Berretts, Boehnings and Robert acker have mumps.
Rev
Borchardt came out from Wausau Sunday and preached a little sermon at the
church. Mr. Hewey took him to Owen, where he took the bus back to Wausau.
Word was received that Rev. Crandall of B.R. Falls would be here soon to
hold special meetings at the church.
