Niemi, Wilma (31 MAY 1884 - APR 1949)

At one o’clock Tuesday afternoon funeral services were conducted from the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), for Mrs. Wilma Niemi, with Rev. V. A. Puotinen officiating.

Pallbearers at the service: Harvey Schwarze, Henry Laube, Gust Sillampa, Herman Ranta, Frank Luoma and Kauno Niemi. Flower girls were Mrs. Harvey, Mrs. Henry Laube, Mrs. Tom Jablonic, Adolph Haavisto.

Wilma Sophia Niemi was born in Finland on May 31, 1884 and was married to Joseph Niemi who preceded her in death last July. She passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield where she had been a patient almost continuously since Christmas holidays she was permitted to return to her home on route 1, Owen, staying only until New Years last November. Shortly before the day when she was again admitted to the hospital for treatment of a lingering illness.

Surviving her are two children, Onnie and a daughter, Mrs. Sigred Anderson and one grandchild, all of Owen; one sister, also of Owen, two other sisters residing in Finland and a brother whose home is at Waukegan, Ill.
