Klessig, Christ #2 (22 APR 1864 - 20 APR 1949)
Christ Klessig, 85, died Wednesday at his home now owned by his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kobs. He had been an invalid the past 10 years following a stroke.
The body will lie in state at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) until Friday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Kobs home. At noon Saturday it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time of the services.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Curtiss Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. Franz Puhlman officiating. Interment will be made in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Klessig was born April 22, 1864, in the Town of Morel, Sheboygan Co., and was married Nov. 3, 1891, to Caroline Schliemann at Rantoul, Calumet Co. He moved to the present farm in Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1902.
Surviving besides his widow are three daughters and five sons, Mrs. Herman (Alma) Marquardt, Rothschild; Mrs. Albert (Dorothy) Mandel, Colby; Mrs. Hugo (Ella) Kobs, on the home farm; Albert and William Klessig, Curtiss; Helmuth Klessig, Tennessee; Raymond Klessig, Adak, Alaska; and Harold Klessig, Colby, Wis.
There are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
