Greeler, Betty (Marriage - 16 June 1951)
Miss Betty Greeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Greeler, became the bride of Harold Beilke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beilke of Granton, at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 16, at two o’clock. The Rev. Alfred Schewe performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of white silk marquisette over satin. It was styled with a fitted bodice closed in the back with tiny covered buttons, a pointed lace yoke with matching lace around the waist and train, the long sleeves coming to points at the wrists, the full skirt extending into a long train. Her fingertip veil of imported French net fell from a rhinestone pearl crown. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and white swansonia.
Her maid of honor, Miss Donna Riedel of Adell, was dressed in a gown of peach ninon over taffeta. She wore matching mitts and head dress. The bridesmaids, Vivian Hemp of Neillsville and Mrs. Jerome Gaier of Marshfield, were attired in gowns of orchid and yellow ninon over taffeta respectively. They were styled with fitted bodices, double ruffles of ninon around the yoke. They wore matching mitts and head dresses, and all the attendants carried basket bouquets of flowers with matching net and ribbon.
The groom was attended by Ronald Greeler as best man and Lawrence Bohnsack and Jerome Gaier. Gerald Luchterhand and Raymond Zipfel ushered. Wilfred Galstad was the soloist, accompanied by Victor Lehman.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the school parlors for 90 guests. The place was tastefully decorated in white, peach, orchid and yellow crepe paper streamers. A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Silver Dome ballroom.
After a honeymoon trip into northern Wisconsin the young couple will reside at the home of the groom’s parents at Granton. The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School with the class of ’48 and has since been employed in the county nurse’s office. The groom attended Granton High School and is employed on his father’s farm.
