Mrs. W. C. Tufts visited with relatives at Spokeville the past week.

Charles Townsend was called to St. Paul last week by the illness of his mother.

W. C. Tufts and E. N. Musselman transacted business at the county seat the fore part of the week.

C. W. Funk is attending court at Neillsville this week as one of the jurors.

Mrs. Nels Miller is very low with consumption at this writing.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith are rejoicing over the arrival of a bouncing boy born to them last Saturday.

Nels Duholm has been appointed census enumerator for the towns of Hixon and Longwood.

Chas. Anderson has accepted a position as clerk in C. W. Funk's store.

Silas Meek and Mrs. N. Couley are confined to the house with mumps.

The usual spring work train is making its headquarters at Withee and in consequence the hotels are full to overflowing.

Albena Thibert has been spending a few weeks visiting in the Twin cities.

Mesdames Mary Folsom of Hurley, and P. Amo of Alma Center, are in the city, having been called here by the serious illness of Mrs. G. Sturgeon.

Several blocks of sidewalk which have taken the place of our old walks during the past week are a decided improvement.

Joe Krom has purchased a lot and will erect a model saloon building and hall on same this spring.

Ed Heagle of Thorp, was an over Sunday visitor with Withee friends.
