Sommers, Elda (4 Oct. 1888 - 5 Mar. 1962)
Mrs. Elda Sommers of Green Grove, Wisconsin died at the Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley Monday at 2:30 A.M. at the age of 73 years, complications being the cause of her death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o’clock this Thursday afternoon in the First United Church of Christ in Colby, Wis., Rev. Carl Serr officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin).
Elda Wesenberg was born on October 4, 1888, in Madison. She was married on April 24, 1912, to Arthur Sommers in Middleton. They moved to Green Grove in 1920 and operated a farm until his death on December 5, 1943. Since that time, Mrs. Sommers had been a companion for several elderly persons in the area. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leona Brocks of Eau Claire and Mrs. Henry (Verniece) Schuh of Curtiss; four grand children and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Winfrey of Tennessee and Mrs. Linda Nordness of Detroit, Mich.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the First United Church of Christ, in Colby, Wisconsin for Mrs. Elda Sommers, age 73, who died March 12 at the Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley. Rev. Carl Serr officiated and internment was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin). Pall bearers were Hubert Glenzer, Fred Glenzer, Walter Laabs, Charles Carnahan, Oscar Kademan and Walter Hake.
Relatives and friends attending the services were from Eau Claire.
