Mrs. Fred Behrens and
Mrs. Chas. Ludwig entertained the Merry-go-round at the Behrens home last
evening.
Miss Viola Barr entertained the members of her Sunday school
class at her home Monday evening.
Nick Scherer went to Marshfield Monday
where he underwent another operation, having several small bones removed from
his head.
Farmers wishing to again raise pickles this year can secure
contracts at the F.& M. Bank.
Mrs. H. Shields was at Marshfield last
Friday where she took treatments for an injured hand, from which he lost his
thumb in an accident, returned home last Wednesday.
Big Auction sale at
the W.T. Copeland farm next Tuesday.
Mrs. Perry Volk came over from Loyal
Tuesday for a visit with relatives.
Paul Borham and John Wuethrich were
Marshfield visitors Tuesday.
Chas. Guptil, who purchased the Aberg
residence, sold it again to Palmer Vinger.
There will be English services
at Immanuel Reformed Church on the West Side at 2:00 o'clock next Sunday
afternoon.
Mrs. A. Law of Staadt arrived here last week for a visit with
relatives. She was accompanied by Stella Krake of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Paris
Rand of Rosendale arrived here last week for an extended visit with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Rossman on route four.
Mrs. Robert Stiefvater of
Manitowoc arrived here Saturday for a visit with her mother. Mrs. H. Gries, who
has been very ill, but at present is somewhat better.
Mrs. Dog Owen! Have
you got your collard and tag on your dog? If not, he is subject to being shot.
A.S. Armstrong, Mayor
Mrs. Harold Stabnow returned from Loyal Saturday
where she spent several days with relatives and friends. Her two sons, who had
been there for some time, returned home with her.
Palmer Vinger
transacted business at Cazenovia last week.
Robert Wall returned from
Marshfield yesterday where he spent a few days.
Ed Fahey and Will
Huntzicker attended the funeral of Mrs. Harry Hewett at Loyal Tuesday.
Otto Geisler has purchased the McKenna residence near the Soo depot.
John
Brauneis went to Milwaukee and Chicago last Saturday on business.
Miss
Marjorie Hawley of route one was at Marshfield over Sunday to visit her father,
John Hawley, who is a patient at the hospital there.
L.M. Wellen was at
Marshfield to see his wife, who is a patient at the hospital there.
Rev.
T.O. Thompson conducted the funeral of Susanna Armitage of Christie on Sunday.
In spite of the bad roads there was a large attendance. Burial was made in
Neillsville.
Grandma Schlinsog, who has been seriously ill at the home of
her son William on route two, is reported as somewhat improved.
Mr. and
Mrs. A.H. Noetzel entertained the high school basketball boys, the faculty,
school board and teachers at a six o'clock dinner at their home Tuesday evening.
C.C. Hoehne and daughter Nelda, Dr. F.A. Boeckman, Louis Arbs and Herman
Damerow went to Wis. Rapids on business Monday.
