Miss Helen Bogren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bogren, Chicago, Ill., became the bride of Walter Johnson, formerly of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), Sunday, Aug. 28th, 1949, at the Norwood Park Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago, at four-thirty p.m. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johnson of this city.
Miss Dorothy Bogren was her sister’s only attendant and Mrs. Gunmar Antonson, also of Chicago, was the groom’s best man. Norman and Edwin Porath of Owen served as ushers at the wedding.
The bride wore a gown of white summer satin which was appliquéd at the neckline with white satin roses studded with rhinestone. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white roses with an orchid center. The maid of honor was dressed in a gown of pale green marquisette with a head piece of flowers fashioned from the same material as the dress and carried a bouquet of talisman roses.
Following the wedding dinner was served to 90 guests at the Café Idrott Banquet Hall which was followed by dancing.
Guests at the wedding from Owen included the groom’s parents, sisters, Ruth and Mary Ellen and Norman and Edwin Porath.
The newlyweds are honeymooning through northern Wisconsin and will reside in Chicago on their return.
The groom is an employee of the street car company in that city.
