Kangas, Joseph (3 MAR 1882 - 14 SEP 1949)
Funeral services will be conducted from the Bethany Lutheran Church in this city at two o’clock Saturday afternoon for Joseph Kangas, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at his home suddenly Wednesday evening. Rev. Puotinen will officiate at the service and burial will be made in the Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Kangas had been enjoying good health until ten days ago when he was stricken with a heart attack on Tuesday, Sept. 6th. A second attack followed on the 8th and since that time he had been confined to his bed at home.
Last evening about 6 p.m. he asked his wife to prepare him some orange juice. When she returned to his room a few minutes later she found him dead.
Joseph Kangas, age 67, was born on March 3, 1882 in Finland. After coming to this country he finally settled in this community, developing the farm on which his son William now resides in the Town of Longwood 38 years ago.
Surviving him are his wife, Hilda, nee Rasmussen, whom he married in 1899, his mother, Hilda, one sister, Mrs. Martin (Esther) Taulau, Waukegan, Ill., and four sons, Richard and Edward of Milwaukee, Edwin of Rock, Mich. And William of Owen.
