Smigaj, Ida #2 (15 NOV 1898 - 19 AUG 1949)
Mrs. Ida Smigaj passed away at her home on Friday morning, Aug. 19, 1949, after a lingering illness. She had suffered a paralytic stroke a year ago. She had reached the age of 51 years, 9 months and 4 days.
The deceased was born in the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on her father’s farm, Nov. 15, 1898. She was united in marriage to Stanley L. Smigaj on Oct. 21, 1919 at St. Hedwig’s Church. They resided in Chicago a few years then moved to Thorp (Clark Co.). That was her home for the remainder of her life. She was a good neighbor and a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley L. Smigaj, Thorp, two sons Louis and Stanley of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Elaine) Lutz of Thorp; her father Louis Glamkowski, Thorp; two brothers, Stanley Glamkowski of Thorp and Tony Glamkowski of Ely, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Helen Glamkowski and one brother Edward.
The pallbearers were Joe Pabich, Joe Moczarny, Anton Cieciora, Tom Polnaszek, Peter Wnek and Ed Decker.
