Wald, Elaine Marie (16 December 1939 - 6 February 2009)

Elaine Marie Wald, born on December 16, 1939, to Mary and Justin Jakowicz in Thorp, Wisconsin, was released from her suffering early in the morning on Friday, February 6, 2009. She is survived by her children, Diane Anderson and Greg Wald, her grandchildren, Russell and Melinda Anderson, and her great-granddaughter, Chloee Anderson-Tudor.

Elaine graduated from Thorp High School in 1957, and was on every committee for her class reunions. She will be missed.

Working for many years as an administrative assistant for the Methodist Church, Elaine was a valued member of her community and popular in the workplace. After her retirement, she embraced her passion for traveling, spending much of her time exploring the corners of the globe. Ever present at her grandchildren’s sporting events and her son’s team penning competitions, she was always her family’s biggest fan. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at St. David’s Church in Clairemont at 5:00 p.m. There was a reception following the service.
