Behling, Frederich (12 MAY 1860 - 28 APR 1944)
Frederich Behling died at Withee Friday, April 28, as a result of complications due to old age, having reached his 83rd year. Funeral services were held at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) with Rev. James Irish officiating. William Behling, Fred Behling, Hilbert Behling, Harry Cordes, Glen Mitchell and Hans P. Hansen were the pallbearers.
Frederich Behling was born in Prussia, Germany, on May 12, 1860, and came to the United States at the age of 12, settling at Prairie du Chien and later living in Milwaukee, where he married Amelia Bolter on Dec. 26, 1882. In 1905 the family moved to a farm 2-1/2 miles north of Withee which has since been his home.
Mrs. Behling preceded her husband in death in 1939.
Left to mourn his loss are sons William and Fred of Withee, and Hilbert of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Bessie) Cordes of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Bernice Cordes and David Behling.
Mr. Behling was a farmer and spent his years patiently tilling the soil and being a devoted husband and father. His many friends and relatives will miss him.
