Talso, Matt (23 MAY 1862 - 30 APR 1944)
Matt Talso, 81, passed away at his farm home in the town of Longwood on Sunday, April 30, having been in poor health for several years with a lung ailment. Services were held at the Finnish Lutheran church, Owen, with Rev. George Autio officiating, on Wednesday, May 3, with interment in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Talso was born in Finland on May 23, 1862. He came to this country and settled in Ely, Minn., when 20 years of age, and while there married Lydia Tolonen. In 1912 they moved to their farm in the town of Longwood. He was a life-long member of the Finnish church.
In passing Mr. Talso leaves to mourn his loss his wife; sons, Rudy at home, Tovio, Lake Forest, Ill., Elmer in Idaho, Waino, somewhere in the South Pacific, Ralph, somewhere in North Africa; and a daughter, Alice, at home; as well as a number of friends.
Pallbearers were John Scheuerman, George Volrath, Nels Wirtola, Andrew Katola, Matt Nyystti, and Frank Karey.
