Weber Dora Ann (Marriage - 9 June 1962)
Miss Dora Ann Weber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weber of Marshfield, Route 4, and Wilmer Ernest Schmelzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schmelzer of Colby, Route 1, were united in marriage in St. Peter’s Lutheran church at McMillan Saturday, June 9. Rev. T. P. Bradtke, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church at Marshfield, officiated at the 2:00 o’clock services that afternoon. The bride was presented in marriage by her father in the church which was decorated with pink peony and yellow chrysanthemums arrangements.
Mrs. Alvin Kloehn furnished the wedding music and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Schulz sang, "O Perfect Love" and "O Blest the House What’er Befall."
A bridal gown of floor-length Chantilly lace and nylon tulle was chosen by the bride. It featured a scalloped Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls, and a bouffant skirt with lace front and alternating tiers of lace and tulle at the back. Her French illusion fingertip veil was secured to a crown of sequins and pearls and she carried pink roses and white carnations with lily of the valley.
Bridal attendants from Marshfield were Miss Joyce Weber as maid of honor, and Miss Dianne Weber and Miss Arlene Weber with Miss Shirley Hoefs of Stratford, as bridesmaids.
Their street length dresses were of pink silk organza with scoop necklines and full gathered skirts. Roses enhanced the back of the bouffant skirts. Small crowns in deep-pink color with drop pearls and face veils accented their gowns as did the pink and white carnation bouquets they carried.
Attending the groom were Fred Schmelzer of Merrill, best man, and groomsmen, Allen Weber of Marshfield and Delmar Schmelzer and Richard Goldschmidt of Colby, Wis.
Melvin Weber of Walworth and Gerhardt Lenk of Barrington, Ill., ushered the wedding guests.
A reception following the wedding services took place at the bride’s home and supper was served at the Parish House. The wedding dance was held at Fahey’s Hall in Rozellville.
The bride, who graduated from the Stratford High School in 1959, has been employed by the Weinbrenner Shoe Manufacturing Co. Her husband is a farmer and they will live at Route 1, Colby, after a wedding trip to Michigan and Mackinac Island. He was graduated from the Colby High School in 1956.
Guests attending the wedding came from Colby, Janesville, Merrill, Wausau, Stratford, Arpin, Spencer, Beaver Dam, Shawano, Manawa, Auburndale, Marathon, Wisconsin Rapids, Madison, Loyal, Hewitt, Milwaukee, Cassville, Watersmeet, Mich., Barrington, Ill., and Minneapolis, Minn.
