Griep, Bonnie May (Marriage - 23 June 1962)
Miss Bonnie May Griep, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Griep of Marshfield, and Paul Francis Weix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix of Colby, Wisconsin were united in marriage Saturday, June 23, at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic church in Marshfield. Mr. Griep gave his daughter in marriage. Rev. Edward J. Penchi officiated at the nuptial high mass which was sung by the church choir.
The bride selected a floor-length bridal gown of Chantilly lace and tulle featuring a jeweled Sabrina neckline and basque waist to which was attached a full hoop skirt styled with scalloped lace overskirt styled with tiers of of tulle ruffles. Her finger-tip-length French illusion veiling was secured to a sequin and seed pearl tiara.
The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of two dozen pink roses centered with a white orchid.
Mrs. James Lang of Marshfield was matron of honor, with Miss Diane Weigel of Milwaukee, Mrs. Raymond Griep of Marshfield and Mrs. Leonard Weix of Crete, Ill., acting as bridesmaids. They wore street-length teal blue silk organza over taffeta, their gowns having square necklines with shirred fitted bodices and carried pink roses and white carnations in cascade arrangement.
James Lang of Marshfield was best man; David Weix of Colby, Raymond Griep of Marshfield and Leonard Weix of Crete, Ill., were groomsmen. Ushers were James Ripke of Neillsville and John Kilty of Colby, Wis.
The wedding dinner, reception and supper were held at the Eagles Hall in Marshfield with the wedding dance that evening at Rozellville. After a wedding trip through Canada, the Weixes will make their home at 109 W. 12th St., Marshfield.
Mr. Weix, a 1948 graduate of Colby High School, is a cabinet maker for Marshfield Homes, Inc. His bride, who was graduated in 1957 from Marshfield Senior High School, is employed by the Wisconsin Pre-Packaged Cheese Co., Marshfield.
