McClaflin, S. F.C. Carl (24 March 1928 - 12 February 1951)

Mr. and Mrs. C. S. McClaflin of Beloit who formerly lived in the Town of Pine Valley received the message from the war Department that their son S.F.C. Carl E. McClaflin, 23, was killed in action in Korea. He was reported missing since February 12.

He was a member of the army reserves when he was ordered to active duty on October 1, 1950, at Fort Lewis, Wash. Six weeks later he was sent to Korea.

Carl was born in Clinton, Wis., on March 24, 1928. He attended school in Beloit and graduated from High School in 1945. He served 18 months with the Army and after he returned to Beloit he attended Rockford Business College. On October 1, 1948 he was married to Margaret Schulz. Surviving besides his wife and parents are twin sisters, Mrs. Bernard Schaefer and Mrs. Henry Mick both of Beloit.
