Stevens, Ione Fae (Marriage - 11 August 1951)
Miss Ione Fae Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens, became the bride of John Urban, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Urban, Sr., at a three o’clock ceremony performed at the Neillsville Methodist Church on August 11. The Rev. Virgil Nulton performed the double ring ceremony. They repeated their vows before an altar banked with baskets of gladiolus and mixed flowers.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a ballerina length gown of Chantilly lace over net and satin. Her fingertip veil fell from a Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with an orchid.
Miss Joanne Stevens sister of the bride, as maid of honor was attired in a gown of green net over taffeta. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.
Harold Ammentorp of Milwaukee, brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. Byron Trachte and Robert Spiegel ushered.
Leland Dopp, brother-in-law of the bride, played appropriate music prior to the ceremony and the wedding march.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to 125 immediate relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was tastefully decorated with baskets of garden flowers.
The young couple will be at home after August 14 following a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.
The bride graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of ’46 and has been employed as secretary for Blum Bros. factory at Marshfield for the past five years.
The groom graduated from the Withee High School and from an agriculture short course at the University of Wisconsin. He served with the U. S. Marine Corp for eighteen months and is now farming in the Town of Washburn.
