Magner, Judith Anne (Marriage - 23 June 1962)

Miss Judith Anne Magner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Magner of Colby, and Kenneth James Kelley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kelley of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday morning, June 23. Rev. Ambrose Blenker officiated as clergymand and also served as celebrant of the nuptial high mass. Mrs. Alois Gabriel was the organist at the ceremony and the choir sang for the wedding. Vases of pink and white gladioli adorned the altar.

Carrying an arrangement of tiny red roses with white carnations and stephanotis, the bride was seen in a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace featuring a pearl and sequin-trimmed Sabrina neckline, basque waist, and full hoop skirt, which was draped in front to show a tulle flounce. The back had alternating rows of ruffled lace and tulle. The bridal crown was a pearl tiara finished with a finger-tip length French illusion veiling.

Mrs. James Faucher of Spencer, the matron of honor, and Miss Sandee Erickson of Unity and Miss Jeanett Magner of Colby, the bridesmaids wore street-length dresses featuring lace strapless bodices, bouffant nylon sheer skirts and bolero jackets of nylon sheer styled with Peter Pan collars. Their headpieces were matching petal clips embellished with aurora crystals and completed with face veils. Their bouquets consisted of white carnations and pompons in the same color of the ensembles - yellow, aqua and orchid.

James Faucher of Spencer was best man and Stanley Luzinski and Dennis Kelley of Colby served as groomsmen.

A reception was held from 3:00 to 5:30 P.M. at the Colby City Hall, and a dance following in the evening at the Sportsmen’s Park.

Mrs. Kelley is a graduate of Colby High School and has been employed at the Colby Café. Her husband, who attended Spencer High School, is an employee of Pathfinder Mobile Homes, Inc., Spencer.

Following a wedding trip to New York and Canada, the Kelleys will make their home in Colby, Wis.

The approximately 150 guests were from Colby, Wisconsin Rapids, Chicago, Holcombe, Madison, Spencer, Medford and Washington.
