Hanson, Loraine Ruth (Marriage - 20 Nov. 1941)
Thanksgiving Day was chosen by Miss Loraine Ruth Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson, as her wedding day.
To the strains of the bridal music from "Lohengrin," Miss Hanson on the arm of her father approached the altar of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and met her bridegroom, Earl Boss, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boss.
The Rev. J. Brandt read the marriage vows in the presence of a large group of relatives and friends at 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon.
A gown of white satin with lace insets and lace jacket and a string of pearls were worn by the bride. A cap of seed pearls held her finger tip veil and pompoms were used in her shower bouquet.
Miss Dorothy Broeske, Marshfield, cousin of the bride and Miss Lenore Boss, sister of the groom, attended as bridesmaids. Their frocks of satin and lace were styled identically in pink and blue respectively with shoulder veils and floral head dresses to match. Corsages of chrysanthemums and double strands of pearls which were the gift of the bride completed their ensembles.
Ernest Boss, twin brother of the groom as best man and Herbert Meyers, Curtiss, attended the groom.
The bride’s mother was attired in sheer green wool and the bridegroom’s mother was dressed in navy blue crepe. Both wore shoulder corsages.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and dinner was served at five o’clock. White, pink and blue streamers were used in the home decorations and a large wedding cake and lighted candles adorned the bridal table.
Among the guests who were present included: Miss Dorothy and Donald Broeske, Marshfield, Clarence Hoeft, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmelzer, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Verhulst, Mrs. Hannah Verhulst, Owen; G. R. Broeske, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Broeske and children, Clyde and Marvin, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carlson and two children, Miss Lucille and Richard Broeske, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Leitzo and son, Clyde, Rev. and Mrs. J. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Trianon.
Mr. and Mrs. Boss are making their home for the present with the bride’s parents. Mrs. Boss, who was graduated from the State Graded Division of Central State Teachers’ College, Stevens Point, is at present principal of the Pleasant Hill state graded school. Mr. Boss is employed by the Northwest Distributing Company.
