Shramek, Charles (10 September 1865 - 4 September 1951)
Charles Shramek, 86, of Merrillan, formerly of the Town of Levis, was buried at Chicago, Ill., on Thursday, September 6, following his death on Tuesday, September 4. He died at Paris, Ill., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Krumpeck. Funeral services were conducted in Chicago.
Mr. Shramek was born on September 10, 1865, in Stahlovy, Bohemia. He immigrated to America in 1878. He and his wife and family moved to a farm in the Town of Levis in 1907 and lived there until his retirement in 1944. His wife died in 1946 and since that time he has made his home with one daughter in Paris, Ill., in the winter and at his home at Hatfield in the summer.
Survivors include five sons, Ladd of Three Oaks, Mich., Charles, Jr., of Neillsville, William of Bensenville, IL, Jerry of Des Plaines, Ill., and Edward of Humbird; and one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Krumpeck of Paris, Ill. Eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive.
