Plunkett, Jean Carol (Marriage - 1 May 1971)
Miss
Carol Jean Plunkett became the bride of Steven R. Madson in a ceremony performed
by Fr. Lawrence Zawadski on May 1, at 1 p.m. in Holy Ghost Catholic Church in
Chippewa Falls. A reception was held at Bresina’s Country Villa.
Parents
of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Patrick H. Plunkett of Chippewa Falls. The groom’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Madson, are also of Chippewa Falls. Both young
people are graduates of Chippewa Falls Senior High and are employed in the city.
For her wedding the bride chose a floor-length, empire-styled gown of
sheer organza and venise lace fashioned with cavalier-shaped sleeves and a
mandarin neckline. Lace embellished the Madonna mantilla of sheer bridal
illusion forming the train of the gown and sweeping to chapel length.
Mrs. Beth Ketchum of Eau Claire served as her sister’s matron-of-honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Kathy Moe, Miss Sandy Ramharter and Miss Jane Boos, all of
Chippewa Falls. The attendants wore floor-length culottes featuring chiffon
empire-styled bodices and multi-print skirts in purple and lilac and orchid and
lilac. Bishop sleeves and Peter Pan Collars accented the bodice. Harmonizing
picture hats of sheer braid completed their attire.
Bestman was Patrick
Baker of Chippewa Falls. Groomsmen were Patrick Plunkett, brother of the bride,
Ed Hagen and Thomas Spry, all of Chippewa Falls. Larry Ketchum of Eau Claire,
the bride’s brother-in-law, and Joel Lyberg of Chippewa Falls, the groom’s
uncle, served as ushers.
Diana Dachel was the flowergirl; the ringbearer
was Dwayne Dachel.
Soloist Mrs. Kenneth Brist sang, “A Time for us,”
“Sunrise, Sunset,” and “We’ve Only Just Begun.” She was accompanied by organist,
Angela Hanson, who also played, “Theme from Love (ink blotch here).”
The
newlyweds honeymooned in southern Wisconsin.
