Kading, Amelia (4 Nov. 1874 - 21 Aug. 1962)
Mrs. Amelia Kading died at the Bethel Convalescent Home at Arpin at 10:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 21, at the age of 87 years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, at Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin). The body will repose in the Lulloff Funeral Home beginning Friday noon until Saturday noon.
The former Amelia Lindner was born in Sheboygan county on November 4, 1874. She moved to the town of Hull with her parents at the age of seven years and received her education in the Colby area. She married Emil Kading, also of the town of Hull. The couple farmed in the town of Hull until 1923 when they moved into the home Mr. Kading built in Colby after which Mr. Kading worked as a carpenter. He passed away in 1942. Mrs. Kading lived in Colby until about three years ago when she entered the convalescent home at Arpin.
Mrs. Kading was active in church affairs and was a member of Zion Lutheran church and the church sewing circle.
Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Emil (Laura) Hanson of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Milford (Margaret) Bolen of Stratford, Anton Kading of Detroit, Mich., and Ernest and Lester Kading of Sheboygan; nine grand children; 30 great grand children; one sister, Mrs. Hilda Berger of Sheboygan; four half sisters, Mrs. Ann Strathman of Colby, Mrs. Francis Arndt of Marathon City, Mrs. Clara Schwartz and Miss Elizabeth Lindner, both of Dorchester, Wis.
One brother, Charles, and two sisters, Minnie and Emma, preceded her in death.
