Sparks, Hazel Ada (31 May 1899 - 12 October 1951)
Hazel Ada Sparks, age 52, of the Town of Fremont, Chili, died at the Wayne Booth Home on Friday at 3:00 p.m. after an illness of eight hours. The body lay in state at the Gilbertson Funeral Home until Monday, October 15, when services were conducted at the Sherwood Community Church at two o’clock.
Interment was made in the Sherwood Cemetery with the Rev. Harry Dorley of Merrillan officiating.
Miss sparks was born on May 31, 1899, to Jesse and Laura Messing Sparks in Sherwood. She was a life-long resident of Clark County and spent most of this time in the Town of Sherwood. The past eleven months she lived in the Town of Fremont with her sister Helen.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Reuben (Hattie) Fields of Pittsville, Mrs. Bert (Edith) Todd of Granton and Helen Sparks of Chili; one brother, Daniel Sparks of Owen.
Pallbearers were Lyle Carey, Wayne Booth, Wilbur Fields, Lyle Cattanach, Russell Todd and Alfred Fields.

Funeral services were held for Hazel Ada Sparks Monday afternoon, October 15, at the Sherwood Community Church.
Hazel Ada Sparks was born in Sherwood on May 31, 1899, the daughter of Jesse and Laura Sparks.
She was a resident of Sherwood almost all her life. She passed away Friday, October 12, at the Wayne Booth home in the Town of Fremont, Clark County.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Bert Todd, Granton, Mrs. Reuben Fields, Pittsville, and Helen of Pittsville, with whom she made her home; also one brother, Daniel of Owen. Four nieces and four nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and one sister.
Rev. Harry Dorley and Rev. William H. Summers officiated at the service. Rev. and Mrs. F. H. Giles of Marshfield sang "He the Pearly Gates Will Open," and "There’s No Friend Like Jesus."
Pallbearers were Lyle Cattanach, Lindsey, Wayne Booth, Chili, Russell Todd and Lyle Carey, Granton, and Wilbur and Alfred Fields of Pittsville. Maxine Cattanach and Becky Todd were in charge of the flowers.

Lee, Chili; Mrs. Ray Cattanach, Mr. and Mrs. Less Todd and son, Billy, Mrs. Ernest Todd, Granton; Mrs. John Franke and son, Chester, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Maveus, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gehre, Nekoosa; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Riedel, Mrs. Prilla Sternitzky, Lynn; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Drake, Loyal, and Mrs. Harry Dorley of Merrillan.
