Colby - Nov. 15, 1962

A son was born to Mrs. Dorothy Frenette at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital November 7.

Alverna Mandel of Milwaukee spent Sunday with Mrs. Edna Dins, Allen, Paul and Rita.

Mrs. Frank Vrana left for Rochelle, Ill., where she is now living with her son, George.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Gutenberger at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital November 12th.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schmidt spent Sunday afternoon at Granton with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wagner.

Harold Schmidt bagged a doe with bow and arrow while hunting at Pier Lake in the Tripoli area.

Mrs. Emilie E. Nystrom is now closing out her store and will leave shortly for Grandview, Wis., to join her husband.

David Haas and Allen Dins were in Madison Saturday where they attended the Northwestern-Madison football game.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilde of Birchwood spent several days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wilde, and visited friends and relatives in the area.

Mrs. F. W. Bauer and Mrs. Earl Knowles of Weyauwega and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Habeck of Milwaukee are guests at the Emma Zillmer home this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Staffeil and Mrs. Gary Schmidt spent Saturday with Mrs. Schmidt’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Schmidt, at Burlington.

Roger Schuh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schuh, has been inducted into the U.S. Service. He had his physical examination at Minneapolis and then left by plane for Ft. Knox, Ky. Roger had been employed at Bezak’s Shoe Store the past two and one-half years.

Miss Rena Bauer and Mrs. Emma Zillmer were called to Fremont Friday by the death of their brother, Irving E. Bauer. The funeral services were held in St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Fremont and burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery at Weyauwega.
