John B. Johnson of Unity Dies January 24th
John B. Johnson of Unity, age 89, died Thursday at 6:16 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was being treated for pneumonia. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity by Rev. Robert Langseth and internment was made in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born in September 17, 1873, in Lattford, Finland, and was married there in 1895 to Anna Johnson. After his marriage, he came to the United States and was employed in the mines and railroads in the western states. He was joined in the United States by his wife in 1900. The couple moved onto a farm in the town of Unity where they lived until 1937 when they moved to the village of Unity where they lived since. He was one of the founders of the Lutheran church in Unity, Wis. Mrs. Johnson died on May 6th, 1959.
Surviving are four sons, Emil and Evert of Unity, Salem of Colby and Edwin of Coos Bay, Oregon; 25 grand children and a sister, Mrs. Alvina Hill of Brantford, Canada.
In addition to his wife, a son, a daughter, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
