Hrunek, James (29 Sept. 1863 - 3 Jan. 1942)
Funeral services were conducted at the Kraut Funeral Home and at St. Louis’ Catholic Church, Dorchester, Monday morning, for James Hrunek, 78, Town of Mayville resident who was fatally injured when struck by an auto in Chicago on January 2.
The Rev. Philip Weller was visiting a son, Frank, at Berwyn, Ill., over the holidays, and was struck while crossing a Chicago street on Friday. He died at a Berwyn hospital Saturday morning shortly after midnight. An inquest is pending.
Born in Bohemia on September 29, 1863, Mr. Hrunek came to the United States 52 years ago, and since 1901 had lived on a farm a mile south and two miles west of Dorchester, Wis. Mrs. Hrunek died on Dec. 26, 1936.
Surviving are five children, James of Dorchester; Frank of Berwyn, Ill.; Joseph of Monroe; Mrs. Mary Brouske and Mrs. Anna Fitzlaff of Chicago; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
