Preller, Edna Marie (Marriage - 24 Jan. 1942)
Preceding a nine o’clock nuptial high mass in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Milwaukee, on Saturday morning, Miss Edna Marie Preller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Preller of Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows with Franklyn Howard Bauer, Loyal. The Rt. Rev. Josaphat Muesig was celebrant of the mass. The nuptial music was played by an ensemble of violin, flute and pipe organ.
For the ceremony the bride wore a white chiffon dirndl gown cut with a square neckline of silver scrolling. The torso waistline was bordered with silver insertion. With it she wore a string of pearls, the gift of the groom. A finger tip veil falling from a seed pearl tiara and a colonial bouquet of pink tea roses and baby breath completed the bridal ensemble.
Miss Margaret Beaver of Loyal, cousin of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a gown of white silk jersey made similar to that of the bride and carried a matching silk jersey muff with lace inserts and pink and white carnations.
Mrs. Robert Preller, Greenwood, also attending the bride, wore a similarly styled dirndl of coral silk jersey and matching muff. Both wore strings of pearls, gifts to them from the bride. In their hair they wore coronets of pink and white ribbon with a gardenia center.
John S. Bauer, cousin of the groom, and Robert Preller, Greenwood, brother of the bride, were the groom’s attendants.
For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Preller wore a plum rose dress with a corsage of gardenias.
A one o’clock dinner for immediate relatives of the bridal party was held at the Schwaben Hof Hotel. In the evening a dance was held at the Eagle’s Ball room.
Mr. and Mrs. Bauer are at home to their friends at 3070 North Thirteenth St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The groom who attendant school in Loyal is employed at the Kearney-Trecker corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and has been employed at the Abbotsford Finance Corporation until the time of her marriage.
