Wirth, Mabel (7 Feb. 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Wirth announce the marriage of their daughter, Mabel, to Mr. Herbert Vorpahl of Sheboygan.

The nuptial service was read at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan at four o’clock on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 7, by the Rev. Edward Krause. Large baskets of gladioli decorated the church and candelabra with tapers lighted the altar.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown fashioned of white satin, princess style with long train, with lace inserts in the skirt and at the midriff. Alencon lace edged her fingertip length veil which was caught to a tiara of seed pearls in her hair. At the sweetheart neckline she wore a single strand of pearls, her gift from the bridegroom. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, stevia and white sweet peas.

A cousin of the bride, Miss Marie Wirth, Sheboygan, was the maid of honor. Her dress was powder blue princess styled gown. Miss Ruth Meggers, also of Sheboygan, attended her cousin as senior bridesmaid. Miss Virginia Hill and Miss Lofs Mueller were the junior bridesmaids. The bridesmaids’ dresses were alike in heavenly blue princess styled gowns. Their flowers were garland bouquets of pink roses and white sweet peas.

Leroy Wirth, brother of the bride, Abbotsford, attended as best man and Fred Woepse, Kohler, also attended the groom.

The Immanuel Quartet of which the bridegroom is a member sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" during the nuptial service. They also acted as ushers in the bridal procession.

A six o’clock wedding supper at the Grand Hotel was followed by a reception at eight o’clock.

The bride was graduated from the Abbotsford High School and had been employed at the Borden Oil Company in Sheboygan for the past six years. Mr. Vorpahl attended Central High in Sheboygan and is employed as a machinist at the Kohler Company.

Among those from here attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Wirth and sons, Leroy and Willard, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jacobi, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Lampi, Owen; and Miss Frances Wirth of Wausau.
