Witte, Elsie (Marriage - 30 June 1942)
Miss Elsie Witte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Witte of Colby, and Delos C. Luhrsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Luhrsen of Abbotsford, were united in marriage, Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 o’clock in the Lutheran church at Colby, Wis. The Rev. M. C. Goetsch of Green Grove performed the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Vane L. Gokey were the couple’s only attendants.
For her marriage the bride wore a white suit and white off-the-face hat. A shoulder bouquet of Talisman roses, sweet peas and baby breath completed the bride’s ensemble.
For the occasion Mrs. Gokey wore a white flowered print dress and yellow hat. Her corsage was similar to that of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the Hotel Charles, Marshfield.
The bride and groom left on a trip after which they will be at home to their friends in the Gokey house on Highway 29, west.
Before her marriage, the bride was a bookkeeper at the Colby Clinic. The groom is well known in Abbotsford as proprietor of the Luhrsen Drug store.
