Kennedy, Kay (Marriage - 8 Aug. 1942)
Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Kay Kennedy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kennedy, of Miles, Texas, to Leonard F. Untiedt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil F. Untiedt. The marriage was performed at the home of Chaplain Scholten of Santa Ana Army Air Base, Calif., at 6:30 in the evening of Aug. 8.
The bride wore a suit of rose velvet with a gardenia corsage and gardenias in her hair.
Attending the couple were Lt. and Mrs. W. Williams of Laguna Beach, Calif. Mrs. Williams wore a suit of light blue with flowers like the bride’s. The military dress uniforms were worn by the groom and his best man.
Following the ceremony, a wedding supper at Hilton hotel, Long Beach, was served.
The young couple are making their home in Sacramento, where the groom is stationed at Mather Field.
Following her graduation from the Miles high school, the bride attended San Angelo Junior College and was graduated from San Marcos State Teachers’ College in Miles, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of Abbotsford high school and attended the University of Wisconsin two and one-half years in the mechanical engineering school. He enlisted in the air corps in July 1940 and attended the airplane mechanics and electrical specialists’ school at Chanute Field. For a year he was stationed at Goodfellow Field, San Angelo, Texas, and became an aviation cadet in November, 1941.
