Delvis, Joseph Victor (27 May 1879 - 12 Oct. 1942)

Funeral services for Joseph Victor Delvis, 63 years old, who died Tuesday morning, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Zink Funeral Home, where the body is lying in state. Burial will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Delvis was born May 27, 1879, in Manitowoc, Wis. He lived in this vicinity for the past 20 years and was engaged in the nursery business.

On Monday night, Mr. Delvis, who had been suffering from stomach ulcers, retired early. When the alarm sounded the next morning, Walter, who slept with his father, leaned over him and shut it off.

Only after he wakened his sister and called his father for breakfast did he discover his father dead. The coroner was called and the time of death was fixed at 2:00 a.m. from coronary occlusion.

The deceased was preceded in death by his wife in 1930. He leaves the following children:

Mrs. John (Irene) Parr, Rockton, Ill.; Harry Delvis, Milwaukee; Albert Delvis, Milwaukee; Joseph Delvis, MIlwaukee; Mrs. Theodore (Harriet) Turek, Rockton, Ill.; Dorothy and Walter, at home.
