Hanson, Laverne (Marriage - 30 Dec. 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Delorit are at home to their friends here in the Waech apartments. Their marriage took place in River Falls, Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock, Dec. 30, 1942, in St. Bridhid’s Catholic church.

Marriage vows were exchanged before the nuptial high mass which was sung by the Rev. Father Fagan.

For the occasion, Miss La Verne Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hanson, River Falls, wore a gown of brocaded white satin, made with a sweetheart neck line, long sleeves and a train, an orange blossom tiara held her finger tip illusion veil. She wore a single strand of pearls and carried a shower bouquet of white roses in stevia.

Miss Joyce Hanson of River Falls was maid of honor to her sister, the bride. Her gown was a blue chiffon with sweetheart neckline and three-quarter length sleeves.

Miss Blanche Lunger, who is a cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Her gown of pink chiffon was like that of the maid of honor. Both attendants wore matching veils and carried bouquets of red roses and pompons.

The groom was attended by Lloyd Jilot, of Forestville, as best man, and Francis Peteck, River Falls, both friends of Mr. Delorit.

A wedding reception for about 30 guests was held at the Gladstone hotel in River Falls. Among the guests from away who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. John Delorit, parents, of the groom; Lloyd Jilot, Alexander Le Graw, all of Forestville; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gartland, St. Paul; Mrs. George Moore, Boyceville; Roger Winans, Dorchester; Miss Helen Hennings, Downing; and Miss Dorothy Louell, Buchanan, Mich.

Mr. Delorit, after his graduation from River Falls State Teachers’ College, accepted his position as agriculture instructor in the Abbotsford high school and has been here since that time.
