Milller, Charles (15 Mar. 1886 - 5 Feb. 1943)

Funeral services for Charles Miller, 56, who died Friday noon at Wisconsin General hospital, Madison, were held Tuesday afternoon at Colby, Wis. The Rev. D. Grether officiated at the rites held at the Lulloff Funeral home at 1:30 and also at the Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:00 o’clock. Internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Six brothers-in-law acted as pallbearers: Walter Baumgarten, William and Amos Miller, Herbert Gray, Herbert Neuhaus and Edwin Strade.

Those who had charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Leonard Kademan and the Misses Jeanette Strade, Ellen Voightlander, Eileen Keller, Lucille Baumgarten and Ella Neuhaus.

Charles Miller was born March 15, 1886 in the town of Colby and was married to Alvina Neuhaus on April 7, 1915, in the town of Green Grove. For a time before his marriage, Mr. Miller worked in a cheese factory but later engaged in farming.

Mr. Miller had been actively engaged in running his farm west of Abbotsford on Highway 29 until Dec. 21 when he was admitted to Wisconsin General hospital for treatment for a cerebral ailment. He died there Friday, Feb. 5.

Surviving him besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Willard Becherer, Colby and Florence, at home; four grand children; his mother, Mrs. Fred Miller, Owen; two brothers, Ernest, Colby and William, whereabouts unknown; seven sisters, Mrs. John Miller, Sigourney, Iowa, Mrs. Mollie Clark, Owen, Mrs. Herbert Grey, Colby, Mrs. Harry Botterud, Boston, Mass., Mrs. John Goetz, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Everett New, Chicago and Mrs. Gust Ledfors, Arlington, Va.
