Gwin, Marion (14 Mar. 1865 - 5 Mar. 1943)

Funeral rites for Miss Marion Gwin, 77, Curtiss, who died Friday night, March 5, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Daisy Marcott, seven miles north of the Village of Curtiss in Taylor county, were conducted at the Marcott home, Monday afternoon.

The Rev. Raymond H. Bowe, pastor of Salem Evangelical church at Dorchester, had charge of the service, and burial was made in Pine Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Otto Fravel, Emmet Hawks, Allen Hawks, Vernon Pragg, Ross Carley and Leslie Saxe.

Miss Gwin, who was born March 14, 1865, in St. Lawrence Co., New York, taught school in Clark county and other parts of Wisconsin for 29 years before retiring 30 years ago. Her home was in the Village of Curtiss, but she spent the winters with Mrs. Marcott.

A member of the Order of Eastern Star in New York, Miss Gwin is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Marcott, Curtiss, and Mrs. J. R. (Eleanor) Folmer, Seattle, Wash. A sister, Mrs. Allie Davis, and a brother, Earl Packard, preceded her in death.
