Prestin, Dorothea Caroline (9 July 1866 - 1 June 1943)
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Prestin, 76, who died Tuesday night, ?:30 of a heart attack, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home at ?. The body will lie there in state until time of the funeral which will be conducted by the Rev. J. ? of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church. Internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.
Dorothea Caroline Henning was born July 9, 1866, in Mecklenburg, Germany. When she was about four ?, she came to America with her parents and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was united in marriage there on ? 1883 to Charles Prestin. They lived there about three years and ? north to a farm near Curtiss where they lived for two years and moved to their place in Abbotsford on Highway 13, where they lived since that time.
Seven children were born to them; a son, William, died in infancy.
Mrs. Prestin has been in poor health the past two years, following a ?tion on a toe. The past year she was able to be up in a wheel chair part of the time.
Unexpectedly, on Tuesday Mrs. Prestin died, at 11:30 at home.
During her active years, Mrs. Prestin was a charter member of the Lutheran Ladies’ Aid. She acted as secretary at the time of its organization. Mrs. Prestin lived until Nov. 1945. They would have celebrated their ? wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband and daughters: Mrs. Louise Zimdars, Milwaukee; Mrs. August (Lillie) ?, Abbotsford, and Dorothy, at home, and two sons: Henry, whose address is not known, and Charles, of ?olis.
There are four grand children, ? great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Benton Gordon, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
