Funeral services for Frank Stoughton, 86, who died Wednesday night at Greenwood, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the home. The Rev. George Griffiths officiated at the rites and internment was made in the Dorchester cemetery.

Frank Stoughton was born in Oshkosh, Nov. 4, 1857. When he was 20 years old, he came with his parents and homesteaded a farm in the town of Holton, about five miles from Abbotsford, Wis.
He was married to Christine Kadonsky, of Dorchester, on April 2, 1883. The young couple homesteaded another farm in the town of Holton. At various periods they lived at Fifield, Sheboygan Falls, and were in Marshfield at the time of the historic fire.
About 40 years ago they moved to the village of Abbotsford where Mr. Stoughton worked on the section for a while and later was a general handyman at painting, carpentering, or wherever he was needed.
Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stoughton, all of whom are living.
On April 2, Mr. and Mrs. Stoughton were married 60 years.
Two years ago Mr. Stoughton suffered a stroke and was in poor health since that time. He underwent an operation at Madison this spring. From there he was moved to a nursing home at Greenwood, where he died, Wednesday night, May 26.
He is survived by his widow, four children, William, Watford City, N. Dak.; Mrs. Bert (Clara) Shead, North Bend, Ore.; George, Milan; and Mrs. J. A. (Libbie) Boyle, Joliet, Ill. All of the children were present for the funeral.
