James C. Vandehey, who is the son of James Vandehey, was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on Sept. 6, upon completion of the aviation meteorology course at the Army Air Force Central Technical Training Command weather school at Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He was graduated as a weather officer. The nine months concentrated course trained him to analyze weather and to prepare forecasts. He will be assigned as officer in charge of a weather station and as a forecaster.
Lieut. Vandehey attended Abbotsford high school, Eau Claire State Teachers’ College and the University of Wisconsin. He was formerly a teacher at Oakfield high school.
