Shoemaker, Scott Wallace (21 June 1975 - 19 October 2013)

Scott Wallace Shoemaker, 38, of Black River Falls died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in St. Croix County from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Scott was born in Black River Falls June 21, 1975, to Ronald and Mary Jean (Lambert) Schoemaker. He graduated from Black River Falls High School and attended UW-River Falls. He later attended welding school. He married Peggy Gaede and the couple were later divorced.

Scott worked at Leeson Electric, D&D Lumber Harvesting and Jellystone Campground. At the time of his death, he was employed at Thomas & Betts Metal Fabricating in Hagar City.

He enjoyed welding, artwork, fishing, joyriding and walking with his children. He was a loving father who devoted his life to raising his children. He enjoyed outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are his parents, Ronald and Mary Jean Shoemaker, Black River Falls; two daughters, Mariah (who died two days later as result of the same motor vehicle accident) and Nicole; one son Brock; three brothers, Eric (Kelly) Shoemaker, Alma Center, Chris and Keith Shoemaker, Osceola; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn M. Lambert, Black River Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Merlin Lambert and his paternal grandparents, Archie and Buela Shoemaker.

Joint funeral services for Scott W. Shoemaker and his daughter, Mariah Ann Shoemaker were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, CTH F Black River Falls. Services were conducted by Jerry Schumacher and burial was in Brookside Cemetery in Millston. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (714-284-4321) 408 N. Water St., Black River Falls Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday from noon until the time of services at the Kingdom Hall.
