Mt. and Mrs. Louie Walter returned to their home recently after spending the
past seven months in Tampa, Fl.
Miss Pearle Beeckler observed her
birthday last Friday. Guests at the Beeckler home that afternoon were Mrs.
William Schmidtke, Mrs. Ethel Berg, and Miss Mabel Williams and her house-guest,
Miss Florence Wiley of Galesburg, Il. Evening visitors were Ione Cooper and
Audrey Spry, Ben Beeckler and Mrs. Irene Ure. Mrs. Jesse Beeckler of Neillsville
called Sunday afternoon at the Beeckler home.
Overnight guests last week
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch were her aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Asher Rooney of Great Falls, Mt., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Kirk
of St. Paul, Mn.
Mr. and Mrs. Forest Bender and son of Yakima, Wash.,
were expected to arrive Tuesday at the home of his sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Henninger.
Mrs. Gertrude Gilbertson has returned to her
home after a week’s visit in Rockford, Il, with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Gilbertson and family. Mrs. Irene Verhagen brought her back to
Granton.
Miss Mabel Williams and her houseguest, Miss Florence Wiley,
were entertained Tuesday afternoon by Miss Daphne Beeckler.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Stevens of rural Spencer and Mrs. Stella Stevens of Loyal were dinner
guests Sunday at the William Schmidtke home. In the afternoon, Mrs. Irene
Verhagen of Rockford, Il., and her daughters, Pam and Judy, of Wisconsin Rapids,
were callers at the Schmidtke’s.
Mrs. Otto Schmidtke spent the weekend in
Loyal, taking care of her grandchildren, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Degenhardt.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Vandeberg, Mrs. Robert Elmhorst, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Schwanebeck, Mrs. Norman Freedlund, and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke
attended the funeral of an aunt, Mrs. Joe Brown, in Hancock on Saturday.
