Gierl, Catherine (3 Sept. 1935 - 7 Dec. 1943)

Colby - Infantile paralysis caused the death of Catherine Gierl, eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gierl, Colby, Route 3, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The child had been ill only three days and was admitted to the hospital Dec. 5.

Private funeral rites were conducted Wednesday and burial took place in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Catherine, who was a third grade student at St. Mary’s Parochial school and member of the juvenile court, W.C.O.F., was born Sept. 3, 1935. She leaves her parents, a brother, Peter, and five sisters, Mary Lou, Barbara, Dorothy, Patricia and Judith.
