Pokallus, Vera Mae (Marriage - 11 Dec. 1943)
Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Vera Mae Pokallus, formerly of Abbotsford, now of Wausau, to Lawrence R. Prahl, of Wausau.
The double ring ceremony took place Saturday, Dec. 11, in Dubuque, Iowa.
For the occasion, the bride was attired in an entrained princess style gown of white brocaded marquisette. It was styled with a sweetheart neck line and sleeves that ended at points over the wrists. The bride’s only jewelry was a locket, a gift of her brother.
The bride was attended by Mrs. Carvel Rawland, sister of the groom, and Miss Mary Litchke, friend of the bride, both of Wausau. They wore identically styled gowns of pastel pink and blue, respectively, made with lace inserts at the waist and throat, and long, full sleeves. The full skirts had short trains.
The young couple are now at home to friends at 128 ½ Washington street, apartment 3, Wausau. The groom is employed at Murray’s Foundry in Wausau.
