Braun, Jessie Mildred (8 Sept. 1898 - 10 Jan. 1944)

Last rites for Mrs. Herb Braun, 45, who died at her home, Monday afternoon, at 1:30, were held this afternoon. The body lay in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home until 1:30 when short services were conducted by the Rev. G. E. Griffiths. At 2:00 o’clock services were held in the Presbyterian church and internment followed in the Abbotsford cemetery.

During the services conducted at the church, two hymns, "Sun of My Soul," and "Nearer, Still Nearer," were sung by Mrs. W. R. Berger and Miss Jessie Merrill. Mrs. A. J. Folstad was pianist.

The pallbearers were Walter Kuenzi, Arnold Laack, Leo Bumann, Clarence Gosse, Otto Jackson and Justin Gray.

The flowers were in charge of the American Legion Auxiliary to the Charles F. Hanson Post and the Royal Neighbors.

Mrs. Braun was born Jessie Mildred Hanson, at Dorchester, Sept. 8, 1898, daughter of Jens and Mary Hanson. About 1911 the family moved to Abbotsford, Wis.

On January 12, 1934, she was united in marriage with Herb Braun at Winona, Minn. They made their home in Abbotsford and here two sons were born to them.

Mrs. Braun had been in ill health the past two years and after a serious operation almost a year ago never regained her strength.

She leaves her husband, two sons, Douglas, nine, and Neal, six, and an only sister, Mrs. William Berry, of Colby, Wis. Her parents preceded her in death and a soldier brother, Charles, for whom the American Legion Post is named, who died during World War I.

Mrs. Braun was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Royal Neighbors Lodge No. 1808 and the Auxiliary to the American Legion, Charles F. Hanson post.

Among the relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roland Braun and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Sonnenberg, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Braun, sons, Clyde and Ervin, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marg, Granton; Miss Joyce Berry, of Boscobel; Miss Birdell Berry, of Eau Claire; and Mr. and Mrs. Warner Berry, of Loyal.
