Gruber, Evelyn E. (Marriage - 5 Mar. 1944)
A wedding of interest here is that of Pfc. Wayne Hugoboom, son of R. W. Hugoboom, of Dorchester, and Miss Evelyn E. Gruber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Gruber, Medford. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s parents, Sunday, March 5 at 4:00 p.m. Miss Ardath Hugoboom of Minneapolis played the wedding march.
After a brief honeymoon in Chicago, the groom returned to Indiana and the bride to her home in Medford.
The bride, a graduate of the Medford high school and the Milwaukee Business College, is employed as stenographer by the Hurd Millwork Corporation in Medford.
Pfc. Hugoboom, who was graduated from the Cornell high school, received his B. M. and M. A. degrees from the University of Wisconsin where he later instructed before entering the armed forces in 1942. After being stationed at Camp Wheeler, Ga., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., he was sent to Indiana Universty where he studied foreign languages and area, graduating from there on Monday, Feb. 28.
