Kauffman, Mr./Mrs. Wesley (50th Anniv. - 4 Oct. 1944)
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Kauffman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home, Wednesday, Oct. 4. Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman are both in excellent health and enjoyed meeting their many friends at an open house during the afternoon.
In the evening an eight o’clock dinner was served to the family, all of whom were present for the occasion. Two large wedding cakes and 50 gold candles served as center piece on the table and flowers and yellow and gold streamers decorated the home.
Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman received a purse of money, many lovely gifts and flowers and cards for the occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman were married Oct. 4, 1894, in the town of Akau, Richland county. They moved to Clark county in 1905 and have resided here since. They have five children, Loris, Donald, Fred and Mrs. Joe (Elsie) Fleischman, of Abbotsford; and Mrs. George (Elma) Gurney, of Colby, Wis. There are 13 grand children and three great grand children.
Among the guests from away who were here for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Tasnow, a brother of Mrs. Kauffman, and Mrs. Frank Douglas, of Withee.
