Candahl, Edith (Marriage - 16 Nov. 1944)
Miss Edith Candahl, Owen, and Eugene Laurent, Neillsville, were united in marriage this morning at 10:30 at the Congregational church at Curtiss. The Rev. C. S. Mathews, of Owen, read the marriage service.
For the ceremony, Mrs. Leland Smiley was organist and Norman Erickson sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride was gowned in white and wore a finger-tip length veil. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Her only attendant was dressed in blue. On the altar was a large basket of flowers given the bride by the children of the Curtiss school where she taught in the primary department for the past three years.
Mr. Laurent, who is now Clark county superintendent of schools, also taught in the Curtiss school for two years, in the junior high department.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Curtiss school, which was decorated with a large wedding bell and streamers for the occasion. Mrs. Leland Smiley poured.
