Charles hardly knows any other name but "Chuck." Even at school it seems more natural to call him "Chuck."
On the 26th of March, 1938, Charles was born in the Town of Holton and hardly got acquainted with the farm for when he was about one and one-half years old, his parents moved to Abbotsford, Wis.
Chuck started school this fall and finds the days have a way of coming to an end with many an interesting distraction. And after school, there is sliding and no end of fun outdoors. He learned to ride a small, two-wheel bike and now can balance the big bike of his brother, Irve, who is a freshman in high school.
Chuck has hair like Neal’s, which is like their mother’s, and what shines out of his grey-blue eyes might be called joy of living, or just plain mischief.
